HOUSTON – The man accused of shooting and killing a Harris County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable appeared in court Tuesday morning. Eddie Alberto Miller, 19, was arrested in Fort Bend County on Sunday while in the car with his mother. Miller is accused of fatally shooting Harris County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable Kareem Atkins in October. He was charged with capital murder, two counts of attempted capital murder for the wounding of two other deputies, Darrell Garrett and Juqaim Barthen, and aggravated assault on a peace officer, authorities said.
