Fort Bend County works to stop overcrowding at animal shelter

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KIAH) – Animal shelters continue to deal with a huge problem involving their residents… overcrowding. In 2023 alone, the Houston Humane Society took in over 3,000 pets with only 2,000 getting adopted. This problem has caused many shelters to host free adoption events to make space.
