Suspect wanted for felony theft surrenders after standoff in Katy

KATY, Texas — A suspect wanted for felony theft out of Fort Bend County surrendered peacefully after a short standoff in Katy, authorities said. Harris County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, along with the U.S. Marshals Office and Katy Police Department, executed a search and arrest warrant near the 2600 block of Maverick Park Lane in West Harris County. The Houston Police Department SWAT and Texas Department of Public Safety also assisted in the operation, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
