Fort Bend County commissioner working to educate public on how county spends its budget

HOUSTON (KIAH) – A Fort Bend County commissioner is taking a hands-on approach to help the community understand how the county’s budget works. Fort Bend County is currently in its budgeting process which will decide how taxpayer dollars will be allocated for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy shared since people were raising questions about the budget and what steps the county takes to spend that money, he wanted to educate the public on how it’s done, so he came up with the People’s Budget Initiative.
