This Houston suburb shows why Texas’ 2024 primaries are so important

Signs of Sugar Land’s booming growth are abundant just beyond the intersection of U.S. 90 and State Highway 6. Subdivisions have sprung up like spider webs around Constellation Field, the $37 million home of the Astros’ Triple-A affiliate. On the other side of Oyster Creek, plans are underway to redevelop the Imperial Sugar char house, the century-old former refinery that gave the city its name, and surround it with housing, retail and offices.
