The police department for one of Fort Bend County’s largest municipalities will soon have a new permanent leader. On Sept. 29, the city of Sugar Land announced that Mark Poland has been selected to serve as the city’s new police chief. He replaces Eric Robins, who retired on June 1 after more than three decades of public service with the city.
