City and county officials are asking Houston-area residents to hunker down by Monday evening, as Tropical Storm Nicholas continues to barrel towards Southeast Texas. Mayor Sylvester Turner said that while the worst is likely to come overnight, Houstonians should nonetheless avoid areas prone to flooding come late afternoon, and recommended remaining indoors.
